We’re always trying to make things better, and the team has been busy working on a few updates to freshen up your FlowReader experience. Here’s 6 nifty changes we’ve made to improve our service.

#1 Sort options

After our launch, we had a lot of requests asking for more control over how feed items are sorted in the RSS reader of FlowReader. For many users, especially those who are browsing through a high volume of content, this is an essential feature needed to keep their workflows efficient.

Now, you can sort your stories and articles using the following filter options: show all, read only, and unread only.

Sorting items: All, Read, & Unread

Just a heads-up, this sorting option will only be available right now for your RSS feeds. The drop-down list will not be visible in your social network reader.

#2 Images from Facebook

If you pride yourself on your attention to details, here’s a small tweak you might find interesting. We’re cleaning up our social reader to give users better options for viewing content. To do this, we’ve  streamlined your Facebook content, so that images will now appear below the content to which they belong on the left side of the screen.

#3 Deleting social accounts

Many of our users (including myself), have a lot of different social accounts. For instance, I have several that I manage professionally, as well as my own personal accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

If you don’t want to use FlowReader’s social network options, or you’ve accidentally added an account that you’d like to remove, visit your Settings page to delete the account. It’s easy: simply click the red delete icon next to the account you’d like to remove.

#4 Easier viewing options for Read and Unread content

A lot of our users felt we needed to add stronger contrast between our Read and Unread items.  So, we’ve designed a new colored background to help make it easier to tell the difference between the two.

#5 Optimized social network posting options

We often talk about our RSS reader, but that doesn’t mean we’re not giving our social reader a lot of TLC. We’re adding a new window to make it easier to post to Facebook and Twitter.

We’ll also be adding a character count for Twitter messages to make sure you get your tweet length just right!

These updates are only a small amount of the changes we are constantly making to FlowReader, and of course, we have much bigger things coming up in the next few months that we can’t wait to share with you!

It gives our team great pleasure to watch our service grow and your feedback helps reassure us that we are heading in the right direction. In an upcoming post, we’ll give you a sneak peek into the future of FlowReader and unveil some new features that we’re currently working on.

As always, thanks for reading!
